Traffic Report: Road Work Scheduled on LA 1 and LA 29

AVOYELLES PARISH, La. — Motorists traveling through Avoyelles Parish should prepare for road
work beginning Monday, Aug. 3, as the Louisiana Department of Transportation and
Development launches a $1.1 million pavement improvement project.

Construction will begin, weather permitting, on the following roadways:

LA 1 from West Bon Temps Street in Marksville to LA 114 in Echo.

LA 29 from Dora Road to Dupuy Crossing.

The project includes installing new pavement striping and rumble strips. Drivers can expect to
see construction crews, equipment and temporary lane closures throughout the work zone.

While traffic delays are possible, all roadways will remain open to both local and through traffic,
and no vehicle width restrictions are anticipated.

The Avoyelles Parish portion of the project is expected to last approximately five months,
although the schedule may change depending on weather conditions.

Motorists are encouraged to slow down, obey all traffic control devices and allow extra following
